Re: Dirnae's Models
I like it very much, but the pointy part of the stone foundation looks wrong somehow, though a higher stone cornerstone as such is nice.
Re: Dirnae's Models
Yeah, already gone, I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Like this perhaps then?
Needs vertex paint, door will look just like the old one when done, except with the semi-circular doorstep.

Re: Dirnae's Models
I like the textures, style and whole design, but either the door is really large or the building is too small if this is a manor like structure.
Re: Dirnae's Models
Nah, this is a small house, but I could do with upscaling it anyway.

Re: Dirnae's Models
Door is massive. What region is this for? If it borders high rock then these are perfect as I feel like this is very high rocky.
Re: Dirnae's Models
Like I said, it's actually that the house is small. That door was built around one from the com set, I just need to upscale the house itself now (which is fine, the cobblestone part needs to be higher anyway for 'sinking' room).
It's Haafingar, so any high rock influence is justified I guess, as nordic sailors came from here and built cities in high rock such as Daggerfall. Plus it's right next to High Rock too.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback folks, helps a bunch when concepting stuff out (That's essentially what a lot of my random models are, it's faster for me to throw out a quick thing in max than trying to draw something half decent).

Re: Dirnae's Models
Messing about with snow a little.
Looks alright so far, still playing about to find the best techniques for this. :/
I'm pretty sure TES:V didn't bother, but Bloodmoon did (to some extent), and our Solitude is very snowy.
Anyway, just an update, gonna add more snow, definitely on the window and perhaps on some of the other textures a bit. But leave comments on what you think about the whole subject below.

It looks great. Fits perfect Haafingars cold climate

Re: Dirnae's Models
Perfect for Haafingar. The snow adds a great touch.

Re: Dirnae's Models
They look really good to me. Snow looks pretty damn cool. Sag the roofs a tiny bit, make the beams a little less perfect and rough up the stone wall towards the bottom and I'd call them done. They look really cool to me.
Was thinking Jehanna may use similar style architecture. It was supposedly once part of Skyrim after all. But I'll need to read more about it.
Anyway, keep it up, looks really good

Genius...
Re: Dirnae's Models
Roof's sagged now, still got the dirt template .psd from the other house which I can turn to dirt/snow for this one, and as for the beams, I'm going to chamfer and use another texture I think. I wont make them less straight or even though, just wouldn't really make sense to me, it's probably just the sharp edges. I'll post a final pic once that's done, and go to 'mass-production' phase.

Next to do: door handle and lock, floor windows, then different house shapes.
